Three points and three goals for Musselburgh as the Honest Toun men complete the double over Rosyth at Olivebank in front of a decent sized crowd despite an earlier down pour. Manager David McGlynn made 2 changes from last week with Andy Porteous and Chris King coming in for Paul Tansey and Martin Murphy. For Rosyth Kevin Hall returning to one of his former clubs. A word also for the pitch at Olivebank, despite a week of snow and rain the park looked like a bowling green in the summer. A minutes silence before the kick off was observed.

Rosyth started well and home keeper Ronnie McPherson had to look sharp as Morrison nearly pounced on a pass back. Rosyth clearly hadn't done their home work regarding the referee, Mr McGechie is not one to talk back to or argue with but time and time again they tested his patience and yellow cards were dished out to Gratton and Hall. Worse was to follow as Gratton recieved a second yellow moments later for a foul on McManus. Before that though Musselburgh had looked good with their passing game causing problems. A great move involving King, Currie and CJ ended with Danny Kelly though on goal but just pulled the shot wide. Rosyth were up against it 2 minutes later when a through ball found Chris King whose first touch was superb and finished one on one with Nelson left with no chance. But 5 minutes before half time a harmless ball from Stenhouse looked to be controlled by the chest of Johnston - but the ref thought otherwise and booked the Burgh player and awarded the visitors the spot kick and Kevin Bain doesn't miss and he duly brought his side level. But they couldn't hold on till half time as a long ball was missed by the Rosyth defense and again Chris King was on hand to score his 14th of the season and put the hosts in at half time 2 - 1 up with another great finish, one on one he is different class.

The second half started with Musselburgh camped in the Rosyth penalty area forcing corner after corner 7 in total in the first few minutes but the best chance came when Chris King had his free kick well saved. Musselburgh then made two changes with Brian Murray and Ross Barnes coming on for King and CJ. Danny Kelly then needed treatment but was cleared to continue. A Murray shot fizzed wide as the hosts passing and movement was back to their best. Then Dean Woods went on a great run and despite two tackles managed to stay up but a third caught him and Musselburgh were awarded a penalty to seal the win. Despite not playing much of the season through injury Paul Currie has added 6 goals from midfield and placed the ball calmly into the net. Bad news then for Musselburgh as Woods came off injured but the welcome return of David Turnbull will be a great sight for the home fans. Turnbull looked sharp and linked up well with Barnes. Musselburgh kept the ball well for the remainder of the game and seemed happy with the 3 goals. Yellow cards for Laird and Bain for Rosyth added to their problems but in truth the game was over at half time as they didn't test the home keeper in the second half. Mark Morrison looked a good player though with pace and sklll.

In review Musselburgh will be pleased to have the points in the bag and willl hope that no fresh injuries were received. They performed well and passing was great. The return of King and Turnbull will boost the Burgh who will need to close down Forfar and Bo'ness in the next few weeks.

Follow Musselburgh as the club faces two of the biggest games of the season. Forfar is the destination next week in the league and then a huge crowd is expected for the Scottish Cup tie at Olivebank against Rob Roy kick offs 1.45pm, check this site for updates.
